My money-saving tricks
Small habits that add up when you're feeding a crew on one paycheck.
- Plan your week around kids-eat-free nights. Tuesday is usually the best.
- Go early. Happy hour food menus are often half off before 6 or 7.
- Download the free rewards apps. That's where the BOGOs and free kids meals show up.
- Water for everyone saves $10 or more per meal. The kids won't notice.
- Split a big entrée and grab an extra plate. Portions here are huge.
You asked
Questions parents ask me
Where do kids eat free in Rockwall on Tuesday?
Tuesday is one of the best nights. Check the Kids Eat Free Tuesday page for this week's Rockwall and Heath spots. Call ahead, since chain restaurants set their own days.
Which Rockwall restaurants have happy hour?
Lots of spots at The Harbor and along I-30 have happy hour, usually around 3–7 PM on weekdays. The Happy Hour page lists times and days.
Are these deals guaranteed?
No. Restaurants change deals all the time. A green check means I confirmed it on the restaurant's own website. Everything else says "Call ahead to double-check."
How do I save the most eating out with kids?
Plan around kids-eat-free nights, order off happy hour menus early, split big entrées, stick to water, and join the free rewards apps.
